TEHRAN – An Iranian troupe led by Javad Molania will restage French playwright Albert Camus’ “The Misunderstanding” (“Le Malentendu”) in its original language at Tehran’s Molavi Hall tonight.
A group composed of Iranian students of the French language are members of the troupe, the Molavi Hall announced on Wednesday.
“The Misunderstanding” is about a man who has been living overseas for many years and then returns home, only to find his sister and widowed mother making a living by taking in lodgers and murdering them. Since neither his sister nor his mother recognize him, he becomes a lodger himself without revealing his identity.
The play will be onstage until August 10.
