TEHRAN – A festival on traditional dishes and handicrafts opens today at Arg-e Rayen, a historical adobe citadel in the southeastern province of Kerman.

The one-week event is dedicated to female artisans, chefs, and cooks, CHTN reported.

Free-of-charge cooking training, talent contests and live music performances are amidst side-section programs of the festival.

“Some 75 percent of the domestically-made handicrafts are produced by females,” Masoumeh Ebtekar, vice president for women’s and family affairs, said in April.
