Turkey says ready to beef up border security with Iran

TEHRAN – Turkey’s Gendarmerie Commander General Arif Cetin said on Friday that the forces under his command are ready for more security cooperation with Iranian border guards, Mehr reported.
General Arif Cetin made the remarks in a meeting with Iranian border police commander Qasem Rezaei in Boralan in West Azerbaijan Province.
“Iran and Turkey have been two brotherly and friendly countries, and the borders cannot separate the two nations and states,” he said in the meeting.
