TEHRAN The Jewish Community of Iran in a statement rejected as ``repugnant'' slogans used by the French Zionists in their anti-Iran demonstration in Paris last Friday. The statement, a copy of which was faxed to IRNA Sunday night, said in part: ``A group of French Zionists under the guise of defense for 13 accused Jews in Iran and in order to prove their enmity with the Islamic Republic of Iran and Iranian people, have exposed their true nature by announcing their subservience to the horrendous Mossad intelligence agency.'' It further added, ``The Jewish community of Iran in response to the disgusting slogans, declares that we are citizens of the Islamic Republic of Iran and give preference to the interests of our homeland over all other issues.'' The statement stressed that declaration of the French Zionists' subservience to Mossad is by no means for the defense of the 13 accused Jews in Iran. "Placards installed at Paris streets only reveal the nature of lackey Zionists and in no way has any connection with the noble Jews in France and elsewhere in the world, nor with the Jewish Community in Iran and even with the arrested accused (Jews)," read the statement in conclusion.

The 13 Iranian Jews were arrested in April on charges of espionage for the Zionist regime. Earlier the Jewish Chronicle had claimed that Jews inside in Iran had informed Iranian officials that the arrested Jews were spies. This fact shows that the foreign media are now reaching the conclusion that the arrested Jews are truly spies. (IRNA)
