TEHRAN – Tehran Prosecutor Abbas Jafari Dolatabadi said on Saturday that Shahram Jazayeri, who was arrested months ago in one of Iran’s towns, has been indicted and the lower court has sentenced him to a relatively long-term imprisonment.

The verdict is not definitive yet, but it will be announced as soon as a final verdict is issued, Dolatabadi said, ILNA reported.

Jazayeri, an Iranian tycoon who spent several years of his life in jail for being involved in a high-profile corruption case, was arrested last year near the Bazargan border crossing in West Azarbaijan Province while trying to flee the country.
