|Parliament determined to help establish NAM secretariat in Iran: MPs||
TEHRAN – Two hundred and fourteen Iranian lawmakers issued a statement addressed to the Supreme Leader on Sunday saying that they are determined to take the measures necessary to help establish the secretariat of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) in Iran.
In the statement, the MPs also said that they would help implement other ratifications of the 16th NAM summit, which was held in Tehran from August 26 to 31.
Addressing the Leader, the Iranian lawmakers wrote, “The fact that the summit of the Non-Aligned Movement was held due to the efficient and powerful management of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and your participation in the summit, which was a source of pride, illustrated international confidence in the system and the Iranian nation and the isolation of the enemies of the nation and the system.”
“The representatives in the Majlis deem it necessary to congratulate you on the great victory of the system and the Iranian nation in regard to the holding of the summit of the Non-Aligned Movement and the victory of the Islamic Republic in a diplomatic war and to thank all organizers… particularly the diplomatic apparatus, security, military, police, and Basiji forces, and (to thank) the people for their sincere cooperation.”
