In the report, the Intelligence Ministry stated that the United States has been conducting a propaganda campaign against Iran with the goal of turning the economic discontent in the country into insecurity, the Persian service of ISNA reported.

Some Iranian political analysts believe that the scenario was devised by U.S. intelligence agencies to help Washington realize its objectives, the report stated.

The report added that one of the goals of the plot is to reduce the Islamic Republic’s income from oil exports and increase the expenses of the country as much as possible.

The political analysts believe that the seditionist current is also helping the scenario play out, the report said.

Through utilizing social networks, the seditionists are making every effort to give the impression that Iran’s current economic situation is critical and convince Iranian citizens that their economic future is bleak, the report added.

Through this scenario, the U.S. is also seeking to sow discord between high-ranking Iranian officials and to create political chaos in the country, the report said.

It added that the enemy is trying to create chaos in order to make the people lose hope in the government’s ability to resolve the country’s economic problems.
