In an interview with the Persian service of IRNA published on Tuesday, Brigadier General Khosro Khosravi said, “Capable experts at the Iranian Army have managed to design and manufacture two types of parachutes in the country.”

“These parachutes, whose quality is comparable with foreign-made counterparts, have been successfully tested,” he said.

He added that the parachutes can be used to jump off antennas, electricity pylons, and high places.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Khosravi said that special forces of the brigade who specialize in rescuing hostages are currently doing two training courses in special operations and search and rescue operations.

He also said that the Iranian army is ready to hold special training courses in search and rescue operations for the airborne troops of friendly neighboring countries.

In addition, the commander said that special forces of the Brigade 65, known as “green helmets,” are the most prepared and skilled forces of the Iranian Army who are capable of conducting special operations, such as rescuing hostages and carrying out sabotage attacks on the enemy positions beyond the country’s borders, in difficult weather conditions.
