|Russia will defend UN Charter in regard to Iran: Lavrov||
TEHRAN – Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has said that Moscow will defend the UN Charter principles in its handling of the dispute over Iran’s nuclear program.
Lavrov made the remarks when delivering a report to the Russian Parliament’s upper house on Wednesday, the Voice of Russia reported.
Arbitrary interpretation of the UN Charter’s most important principles is a threat to the world order, he said.
“We will continue to resolutely insist on the supremacy of law in international affairs,” Lavrov noted, according to RT.
He added, “This is how we will move forward in our efforts to address the situation in Syria, the Iranian nuclear program and other crisis situations.”
