The Leader made the remarks during an address to thousands of students in Bojnourd, the capital city of the northeastern province of North Khorasan.

Ayatollah Khamenei began an eight-day visit to North Khorasan Province on October 10.

In his speech, the Leader said that the Iranian people should refrain from following the Western way of life.

“We do not intend to embrace anti-Westernism, but, according to (our) research, we emphasize that imitating the West get nations nowhere,” he stated.

Ayatollah Khamenei also said, “The West’s culture is basically an invasive culture, and (when) it is promoted in any country for whatever reason, it gradually destroys the culture and identity of its people.”
