Larijani made the remarks in a speech during an open session of the Majlis on Sunday in comments about the recent terrorist actions in Iran and Lebanon.

On October 19, two Iranian citizens were killed by a suicide bomber in the city of Chabahar, in the southeastern province of Sistan-Baluchestan.

On the same day, eight people were killed and over 100 others were injured in a car bomb explosion in Beirut.

In his speech, Larijani said that the terrorist attack in Chabahar was carried out on the orders of intelligence services of certain countries and called on Iranian officials to be more vigilant.

He also asked the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee to investigate the incident.

Commenting on the incident in Lebanon, Larijani stated, “After exerting pressure on the Iranian nation, the United States is carrying out terrorist actions, and these actions are carried out both in our country and in Lebanon.”

There are many ambiguities in regard to the incident in Lebanon, he said, adding, “It seems they (the Americans) are seeking a new act of adventurism in the region.”
