|Iran determined to expand ties with Africa: Salehi||
TEHRAN – Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi met with the foreign minister of Burkina Faso, Djibril Bassole, in Ouagadougou on Tuesday.
During the meeting, Salehi said, “High-ranking officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran are determined to expand ties with Africa.”
He also invited Bassole to make a trip to Iran.
Bassole expressed hope that Salehi’s trip would pave the way for further expansion of bilateral ties, saying that Burkina Faso is keen to use Iran’s experience in various areas. The two officials also discussed the latest regional and international developments.
In addition, the Iranian foreign minister held a meeting with Burkina Faso’s parliament speaker, Vatar Songalou Apolinz, in Ouagadougou on the same day.
The latest regional developments, including the crisis in Syria, were discussed during the meeting.
The importance of the establishment of a joint parliamentary group with the aim of enhancing cooperation was also emphasized by the two officials.
