The UN nuclear agency has intensified “dialogue” with Tehran, Amano said in a meeting with Israeli President Shimon Peres at the World Economic Forum in Switzerland on Thursday.

Amano “made clear the agency’s commitment to dialogue, and the need to resolve issues with Iran by diplomatic means”, the statement read.

Israel, which is widely believed to have the only nuclear arsenal in the Middle East, has repeatedly threatened that it will attack Iran’s nuclear facilities if diplomacy and sanctions fail to resolve the dispute over Tehran’s nuclear program.
