“Our youth are determined to send humans into space over the next four to five years, and I’m sure this will happen. I’m ready to make a sacrifice and be the first person whom you want to send into space, despite the high risk,” Ahmadinejad told a group of space scientists and officials in Tehran on Monday.

Iran announced on January 28 that it had successfully sent a monkey into space and brought it back to Earth safely as part of the project to send humans into space.
