|Qalibaf holds talks with MPs on presidential election||
TEHRAN – Tehran Mayor Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, who has been mentioned as a possible candidate for the June 14 presidential election, met with 50 MPs on Tuesday to exchange views about the election, according to MP Mehrdad Lahouti.
Lahouti also said that Qalibaf’s remarks during the meeting indicated that he had prepared himself to run in the election.
Qalibaf is a member of the three-member coalition of principlists which also includes former foreign minister Ali Akbar Velayati and sitting MP Gholam Ali Haddad-Adel.
Qalibaf had previously said that the formation of the coalition in the run-up to the presidential election was a wise and popular move which would serve national interests.
