Rezaii who ran unsuccessfully for the presidential post in the 2009 election made the remarks in a question and answer session with students at Sistan and Baluchestan University in the southeastern city of Zahedan.
He said he will announce his plans in the coming days.
“Since the country’s main priority is the issue of economy, inflation and youth unemployment I will focus on” these issues “in my election programs,” the former commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps said.
He added the country is wrestling with severe economic sanctions which the management system must handle them “but unfortunately the economic management of the country is too weak and cannot counter sanctions.”
Iran’s presidential election will be held on June 14.
