Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi, the commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Naval Force, made the remarks on Tuesday in a meeting with Iraqi Admiral Ali Hassan Ali in Baghdad.

Commenting on the Islamic Republic’s power to ensure security in the region, Fadavi expressed dismay over the presence of foreign troops in the strategic Persian Gulf region which accounts for a third of the world’s oil supply.

He also noted that the good relationship between Iran and Iraq can help boost regional security.

Fadavi who also visited the operational center of the Iraqi Naval Force described his visit to Baghdad as useful and invited the Iraqi commander to pay a visit to Iran.
