He made the remarks during a meeting with outgoing Swiss ambassador to Tehran Livia Leu Agosti on Tuesday.

The Swiss embassy represents the U.S. interests in Iran since Tehran and Washington cut their diplomatic relations in 1980.

Larijani also called for the expansion of ties between Tehran and Bern in all areas.
