 TEHRAN – Expediency Council Chairman Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani said on Tuesday that Iran’s new government will inherit many domestic and foreign problems.“The new government inherits many domestic and foreign problems especially in economic and political areas,” Rafsanjani told a number of former officials who served in the construction and reformist administrations.
Rafsanjani was president from 1989-1997 for two consecutive terms whose administration was referred as “construction government”.
Rafsanjani also called the majority vote for Hassan Rohani in the June 14 election “very meaningful”, saying even people in villages realized the realities on the ground and showed their awareness of problems and their disapproval of sloganeering, unlawful acts, and policies without direction.
