TEHRAN – Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi held a telephone conversation with United Arab Emirates (UAE) Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Wednesday, in which he asked the UAE to reconsider its decision to expel Iranians.

Dozens of Iranians have been expelled from the UAE over the past couple of months, and no reason has been given for their expulsion.

The Iranian parliament has said that it would pursue the issue.

During the phone conversation, the two foreign ministers also exchanged views on a number of other issues, including the crisis in Egypt.

In addition, they called for the expansion of ties between Tehran and Abu Dhabi.
