Iranian FM discusses Egyptian developments with ElBaradei

c_330_235_16777215_0_http___www.tehrantimes.com_images_stories_famous_02_sk1.jpgTEHRAN – In a telephone conversation on Friday, Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi discussed the latest developments in Egypt with Mohamed ElBaradei, the Egyptian vice president.
 
Salehi emphasized that the Arab country’s destiny should be determined by its people and any decision by the Egyptian nation must be respected by everyone. 
 
He also urged all Egyptian political groups to be actively involved in the national process of democracy in efforts to secure the goals of the Egyptian people. 
 
ElBaradei, for his part, thanked Salehi for his telephone call and called for the expansion of ties with the Islamic Republic.
 
He also called for continuation of consultations between the two countries on major regional issues.
 
Mohamed ElBaradei, a Nobel Peace Prize winner and the former head of the International Atomic Energy Agency, was appointed as the country’s vice president by Egyptian interim president, Adly Mansour, on July 9
