Sleiman is expected to be accompanied by a Lebanese delegation, likely including caretaker Foreign Minister Adnan Mansour, during his visit to Iran early August, the sources said.

Rohani’s swearing-in ceremony will be held on August 4, a day after he is endorsed by the Leader of the Islamic Republic, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.

Reform-minded Rohani won Iran’s presidential election in the first round in June with over 50 percent of the vote.

A number of heads of state and other leaders have been invited to attend Rohani’s inauguration ceremony.

Sleiman received a message last week from Rohani in response to his congratulatory message on the Iranian president’s June election.
