5,000 new centrifuges to start operation: Ahmadinejad

c_330_235_16777215_0___images_stories_edim_02_am2(137).jpgTEHRAN – Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has said that 5,000 new domestically manufactured centrifuge machines, which have been installed at the country’s uranium enrichment facilities, are ready to start operation in the near future. 
 
“12,000 centrifuge machines are now running in our nuclear sites and 5,000 new centrifuges are ready to start operation,” Ahmadinejad said in a televised interview broadcast live on Iranian television late on Sunday.  
 
The IAEA report on Iran’s nuclear program which was published in May said that Iran was pressing ahead with installing a more efficient version of centrifuge machines known as the IR-2m at its main enrichment plant near the central town of Natanz, according to Reuters.
