TEHRAN – The High Council for Human Rights of Iran’s Judiciary issued a statement on Monday to commemorate International Islamic Human Rights and Human Dignity Day, which is observed on August 5 every year.
In the statement, the council hailed Iran’s achievements in the field of human rights, saying, “The Islamic Republic of Iran has proved over the past three decades that it is a good model of religious democracy and governance based on Islamic intellectuality.”
It also criticized the West’s efforts to impose its liberal and secular values on Muslim countries.
