Efforts should be made to promote regional peace, Rohani tells Erdogan

c_330_235_16777215_0___images_stories_edim_02_am3a(2).jpgTEHRAN – During a telephone conversation with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Monday, Iranian President Hassan Rohani said that efforts should be made to help promote peace and stability of the region.  
 
“We should make every effort to end bloodshed in the region based on our moral and Islamic obligations,” Rohani said, adding that cooperation between Iran and Turkey meant to achieve this objective will be highly effective. 
 
Elsewhere in his remarks, the newly inaugurated president said that his administration would increase cooperation with Ankara.   
 
The Turkish prime minister, for his part, congratulated Rohani on his election as Iranian president and called for the expansion of relations between Tehran and Ankara. 
 
In addition, Erdogan expressed interest in paying a visit to Iran.
