 TEHRAN – Iran has expressed deep concern over recent deadly clashes in Egypt, and advised the rival groups to exercise restraint.
In a statement released on the Iranian Foreign Ministry’s website on Wednesday, the Islamic Republic said that the current conflict in Egypt can fuel a civil war in the Muslim nation and jeopardize the interests of its citizens.
According to Reuters, Egyptian security forces killed scores of people on Wednesday when they moved in to clear a camp of Cairo protesters demanding the reinstatement of ousted President Mohamed Morsi.
