Iranian president to attend SCO summit

c_330_235_16777215_0___images_stories_edim_02_at3(7).jpgTEHRAN – Iranian President Hassan Rohani is scheduled to visit Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, in September to participate in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit. 
 
This will be Rohani’s first foreign diplomatic mission after he took office on August 4. 
 
Reportedly, Russian President Vladimir Putin is scheduled to hold talks with Rohani on the sidelines of the summit.
 
Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif will accompany Rohani in this trip.
 
High-ranking officials from member and observer states will participate in the SCO summit that will be held on September 13.
 
SCO is a Eurasian political, economic and military organization which was founded in 2001 in Shanghai by the leaders of China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
 
Iran, Afghanistan, India, Mongolia, and Pakistan have an observer status in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
 
The last summit was held in Beijing, china, in 2012.
