TEHRAN – Germany says any initiative to upgrade the talks between Iran and the major powers to ministerial level should be taken collectively.
Martin Schaefer, a spokesman for the German Foreign Ministry, made the remarks during a news conference in Berlin on Monday.
The six major powers, namely the United States, China, Russia, Britain, France, and Germany, which are known as the P5+1 group, have held various rounds of talks with Iran over its nuclear program.
Schaefer also quoted German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle as saying that the two sides should seize the opportunity to resume the talks.
