.jpg) TEHRAN – The deputy commander of the Navy has said that Iranian naval forces are currently operating in the bodies of waters which are considered the backyard of the hegemonistic powers.
“The fact that the Navy’s fleets of warships are present in international waters, oceans, and the regions which are considered the backyard of the global arrogance (forces of imperialism) indicates that the capabilities of the Navy have increased in many aspects. And this is one of the main factors contributing to the country’s deterrence capability,” Rear Admiral Gholam Reza Khadem-Bigham said in an interview with the Fars News Agency published on Tuesday.
He also said that Iran had the capability to have a naval presence near the territorial waters of the United States, adding, “At present, we do not see any need to have a presence near the maritime borders of the United States.”
