Outgoing Malian ambassador meets Iran’s new FM

c_330_235_16777215_0___images_stories_edim_02_ep3(175).jpgTEHRAN – The outgoing Malian ambassador met with new Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on Tuesday. 
 
During the meeting, Zarif said that expansion of relations with Mali and other African countries is one of the priorities of Iran’s foreign policy. 
 
He also thanked the ambassador for its efforts to strengthen ties between the two countries during his tenure and expressed hope that cooperation between Tehran and Bamako would be increased in various spheres. 
 
The Iranian foreign minister also congratulated Mali on holding presidential elections this month, wishing success for the new administration. 
 
The Malian ambassador, for his part, thanked Iran for supporting his country in difficult times.
 
Mali is keen to consolidate ties with the Islamic Republic and use its experience in various sectors, including in infrastructure development, the ambassador said.
