| Outcome of war on Syria is unpredictable: Iranian parliament speaker |

 Iran’s Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani has warned against a U.S.-led military attack on Syria, saying the consequences of such a move will be unclear.
Larijani said in a Friday speech at Turkmen Parliament that the drums of war on Syria being beaten by the U.S. are not an ordinary call to war.
“ …this is warmongering in the entire [Middle East] region and it is uncertain how far it will spread and how many people will die in this war,” he added.
Reaffirming Iran’s opposition to any military option on Syria, Larijani said reforms cannot be carried out in the Arab country at gunpoint, stressing political negotiations between the different sides of the crisis can settle the issue.
“Some countries believe that democracy can be created only through a military approach. We consider this approach wrong because democracy is a domestic demand of countries.
He stressed that weapons and terrorists cannot establish democracy.
He stressed Iran’s belief in resolving regional issues through the help of regional states as the meddling of other countries increases problems.
The administration of U.S. President Barack Obama has been campaigning for strikes against Syria since August 21, when the militants operating inside the Middle Eastern country and its foreign-backed opposition claimed that over a thousand people had been killed in a government chemical attack on the outskirts of the capital Damascus.
The Syrian government categorically rejected the accusation.
Blatant calls for war by the U.S. administration have not faded despite reluctance by some of its closest allies to participate in the U.S. war plans.
The U.S. Congress will debate the military attack when lawmakers return from recess on September 9.
The UN, Iran, Russia, and China have warned against war.
