Hossein Hashemi inaugurated as Tehran governor

c_330_235_16777215_0___images_stories_edim_02_at3(16).jpgTEHRAN – The new governor of Tehran Province, Hossein Hashemi, was inaugurated during a ceremony on Wednesday. 
 
Hashemi, a former MP, replaced Morteza Tamaddon, who served in the post for five years.
 
Hashemi was head of the industries committee at the Parliament and president of Iran’s Cycling Federation from 1995 to 2005.
 
He was appointed to the post after a cabinet meeting on Sunday which was chaired by President Hassan Rohani. 
 
Hashemi represented people of Miyaneh in parliament for four consecutive terms, from 1996 to 2012.
