|‘Iran’s nuclear issue can be resolved if major powers show seriousness’||
TEHRAN – Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has said that Iran’s nuclear issue can be resolved if the world powers involved in nuclear talks with Tehran approach the issue “seriously and wisely”.
Zarif made the remarks during a meeting with former Iraqi vice president Adil Abdul-Mahdi al-Muntafiki in Tehran on Monday, in which the two officials discussed bilateral ties and the latest developments in the region.
The top diplomat also said that Iran is insistent on the recognition of its legal nuclear rights and is ready to resume negotiations with the world powers in order to help settle the nuclear issue.
On the Syrian crisis, he said that extremists and takfiri groups operating in the region suffered a defeat after diplomatic efforts meant to prevent a military action against Syria succeeded.
