|IRGC to unveil new combat UAV||
TEHRAN – The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps will unveil a new domestically manufactured unmanned aerial vehicle during Iran’s Sacred Defense Week, which will begin on September 22, the commander of the IRGC Naval Force announced on Wednesday.
The UAV, which has been equipped with missiles and bombs, has successfully been tested, Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi said.
In Iran, the 1980-1988 Iran-Iraq war is known as the Sacred Defense, and Sacred Defense Week is held on the anniversary of the beginning of the war.
A military parade is held at the mausoleum of Imam Khomeini, the Founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in the south of the metro Tehran area each year to commemorate the occasion, in which the country’s latest military achievements are unveiled.
