|Leader pardons 80 security-related convicts: Judiciary spokesman||
TEHRAN – Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has granted clemency to 80 people who were convicted of either taking part in the 2009 post-election unrest or committing security-related offences, Judiciary spokesman Gholam Hossein Mohseni-Ejeii announced on Monday.
Mohseni-Ejeii said the Leader made the decision upon a request by Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Sadeq Larijani.
On September 18, the Judiciary released a number of political activists and journalists who had been arrested after the 2009 presidential election.
