|Policy of sanctions and threats has never served major powers’ interests: Iranian FM||
TEHRAN – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has said that the policy of sanctions and threats toward the Islamic Republic has never served the interests of world powers.
Zarif made the remarks during a meeting with Yves Rossier, the state secretary of Switzerland’s Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, in Tehran on Monday.
“The continuation of this policy will also be the repetition of previous mistakes, which did not hinder the progress of Iran’s peaceful nuclear program,” he said.
Iran and the six major powers, namely the United States, China, Russia, Britain, France, and Germany, are scheduled to hold a new round of talks over Iran’s nuclear issue in Geneva on October 15 and 16.
The Swiss official also expressed hope that the Geneva talks would be constructive and produce positive results.
