|Rouhani now favorite to win Nobel Peace Prize in Guardian poll||
TEHRAN -- Iranian President Hassan Rouhani is leading a British newspaper’s website poll that asks respondents their views on who should win the 2013 Nobel Peace Prize.
Journalists of The Guardian nominated a number of people they deem worthy of winning the Nobel Peace Prize this year, including Malala Yousafzai, the Pakistani school pupil and education activist who was shot in the head by Taliban gunmen for speaking up for the right of girls to be educated.
According to The Guardian’s website poll, Rouhani is in first place with 58 percent of the votes, followed by Malala Yousafzai at 23 percent.
Rouhani, who won the Iranian presidential election in June, started a new chapter in relations with the West with his speech at the annual session of the UN General Assembly in New York in the last week of September.
