TEHRAN – Kenyan Senate Speaker Ekwee Ethuro will travel to Iran on Saturday at the head of a parliamentary delegation, an advisor to Iranian Majlis speaker for international affairs announced on Wednesday.
Hossein Sheikholeslam also said that the Kenyan official will meet with Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani and other high-ranking Iranian officials during his five-day visit to discuss bilateral relations.
In addition, Sheikholeslam said that an Irish parliamentary delegation is also scheduled to travel to Iran on January 14 for a four-day visit at the invitation of Chairman of the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee Alaeddin Boroujerdi.
The Irish delegation will hold meetings with a number of Iranian lawmakers and political officials, he said.
Iran’s relations with foreign countries have warmed since Hassan Rouhani was elected president in June. Rouhani has promised “constructive interaction with the world.”
