“It is better that the Americans would follow diplomacy in the framework of the Geneva deal and do not block the negotiations by using cheap words,” Major General Hassan Firouzabadi, the chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, said on Tuesday.

His remarks came in response to U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, who said that the military option is still on the table if Iran does not adhere to an interim nuclear deal reached between the Islamic Republic and the major powers in Geneva on November 24, 2013.

The remarks by Kerry came just four days after the Geneva nuclear deal went into force, and inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency closely watched and verified the implementation of the deal on the part of Iran.
