|Iran’s IRGC says maneuvers to continue as scheduled||
TEHRAN - The maneuvers by the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps will go ahead as planned in the current Iranian year which ends on March 20, the IRGC spokesman announced on Thursday.
Ramezan Sharif said the IRGC have held maneuvers during the current year based on the annual scheduled plans and the drills will be completed by the end of the year.
He said a small number of maneuvers are going to be made public which mostly involve the IRGC navy, ground, and aerospace forces and well as the Basij.
The IRGC spokesperson said the maneuvers by the IRGC and Basij are intended to maintain and improve the country’s “defensive preparedness”.
He added that maneuvers fall within the rightful annual plans of the IRGC and publicizing them is within the country’s defense policies.
Sharif dismissed some media speculations about the IRGC maneuvers, saying some glorious news about the IRGC war games will be publicized in the near future.
