Zarif highlights expansion of cooperation between Iran and Turkmenistan

c_330_235_16777215_0___images_stories_edim_02_NA1(1).jpgTEHRAN - The Iranian foreign minister expressed hope that by opening the railway project connecting Iran, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan the relations among the three countries would be strengthened.
Mohammad Javad Zarif made the remarks in a joint press conference with Turkmen Foreign Minister Rasit Meredow in Tehran on Saturday.
Zarif also said that his trip to Turkmenistan last month was very successful.
Pointing to the importance of relations, Zarif said three weeks after his trip to Turkmenistan Meredow made a trip to Iran at the top of a high-ranking delegation which includes minister of energy, railway officials, and the head of State Development Bank of Turkmenistan.
For his part, the Turkmen foreign minister said that an exhibition of Iranian commodities will be held in his country in the near future.
Meredow added that during the Iranian foreign minister’s trip to Turkmenistan, the two countries’ joint commission was held in which it was agreed to implement some “strategic projects” to develop ties.
The exhibition of Iranian commodities in Turkmenistan will be held on February 27.
