The U.S. has repeatedly said that military option is on the table to stop Iran from building what it claims “nuclear weapons”.
“The military option that they have in their mind is missile and air attack on sensitive areas and nuclear installations, but they know that if they do so we will not let them go free…,” Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari said at Imam Hossein University.
Israel and the United States claim that Iran is seeking to produce nuclear weapons under the cover of its civilian nuclear program, a charge Iran has vehemently denied.
The International Atomic Energy Agency has conducted numerous inspections of Iran’s nuclear facilities and has never found any evidence showing that Iran’s civilian nuclear program has been diverted to nuclear weapons production.
