|Iran unveils 21 defense projects||
TEHRAN – Twenty-one defense electronic and radar projects were unveiled in a ceremony attended by Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan in Shiraz on Tuesday.
The ceremony was held at Shiraz Electronics Industries of the Iranian Defense Ministry.
Dehqan elaborated on the projects and said that two air-defense radar systems are ready to be delivered to the Iranian Armed Forces, adding that the systems are advanced long-range air-defense radars that will increase Iran's air-defense surveillance capabilities.
The ministry also unveiled 6 important and strategic electronic products which can be used by the Air Force and the Navy, including sonar devices, he said.
He went on to say that in the area of smart weapons, four new products were unveiled including a system for guiding anti-armor missiles with laser.
Dehqan said that the achievements were made through utilizing the capacities of defense industries and participation of universities and domestic corporations, despite tough international sanctions against the country.
