|Iran attends IPU assembly||
TEHRAN – An Iranian parliamentary delegation has left Tehran for the Swiss city of Geneva to attend the 130th assembly of Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), which was scheduled to be held on March 16 to 20.
The IPU is the international organization of Parliaments, established in 1889.
According to its official website, the union is the focal point for world-wide parliamentary dialogue, and works for peace and cooperation among peoples.
It fosters contacts, coordination, and the exchange of experience among parliaments and parliamentarians of all countries, and considers questions of international interest and expresses its views on such issues in order to bring about action by parliaments and parliamentarians.
