Safari said the new Iranian government attaches great importance to its relations with China, adding that Rouhani’s trip to China would be a help in this respect.

China is Iran’s biggest trade partner and this entails a development of bilateral relations, the ambassador stated.

He went on to say that Chinese President Xi Jinping also seeks comprehensive ties with Tehran.

He added that implementation of bilateral agreements, easing of banking transactions between the two countries and increase in Iranian exports to China are among the long-term goals of the Iranian embassy in Beijing.

The Iranian embassy uses all the economic and business capacities to achieve these goals, the veteran ambassador said.

Statistics indicate that the annual transactions between Iran and China stand at about $40 billion which will increase to $60 billion in the next year.
