|Tehran will accept no condition for visit of European Parliament delegations to Iran: Zarif||
TEHRAN – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif announced on Sunday that Tehran will accept no condition for visit of delegations from the European Parliament to Iran.
In its resolution adopted on Thursday the European Parliament said that European delegations’ trips to Iran should be conditioned on meeting members of political opposition groups.
European Parliament is not in a “moral position” to express views on the situation of human rights in other countries, Zarif told a meeting of the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee.
The behavior toward immigrants and Muslims in European countries is an indication that the European Parliament does not have legitimacy to discuss the situation of human rights in other countries, he added.
He went on to say that the Iranian great nation seeks an interaction based on mutual respect and does not tolerate any countries’ interference in its internal affairs.
In its resolution the European Parliament accused Iran of “continued, systemic violation of fundamental rights”.
