|The last Iranian border guard is kept in Pakistan: official||
TEHRAN – Deputy Interior Minister for Security Affairs Ali Abdollahi said on Sunday that the state of Jamshid Danaeifar, the fifth and last Iranian border guard, is not clear yet, but definitely the terrorist group keeps him in Pakistan.
There is no precise information about his situation, but surely he is in Pakistan and the Islamabad government should take the responsibility to resolve the issue immediately, Abdollahi told reporters in Tehran.
Five Iranian border guards were abducted by the terrorist Jaish-ul-Adl group about two months ago. Four of them were released in April.
In March, the group claimed that it had killed Danaeifar.
He said that a top Iranian delegation will make a trip to Pakistan in the near future in which the situation of Danaeifar will be discussed among other issues.
He went on to say that Iran calls on Pakistan to exert more control over its borders, adding that Iran does not let terrorist groups or drug smugglers enter its territory through the borders with Pakistan.
He also said that he is scheduled to pay a two-day official visit to Qatar on Monday to form a security working group between the two countries.
Following the security agreement signed by Iran and Qatar in 2010, it is the first security working group between the two countries, he added.
The agreement was signed in the Qatari capital of Doha on March 9, 2010 between Iran's then interior minister Mostafa Mohammad-Najjar and his Qatari counterpart Abdallah bin Khalid Al Thani.
