|Kidnapped Iranian border guard may be alive: MP||
TEHRAN – Hossein Naqavi Hosseini, the spokesman of the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, said on Wednesday that there is evidence that the fifth member of Iranian border guards, abducted by the terrorist Jaish-ul-Adl group more than two months ago, is alive.
Five Iranian guards were abducted in the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan on February 6 and were transferred to Pakistan. Later, Jaish-ul-Adl claimed responsibility for the abduction.
Following intensive efforts by Iranian officials and Sunni clerics in the province, the group released four soldiers on April 6, claiming that it had killed the fifth member, Jamshid Danaeifar.
However, the terrorist group has announced that it cannot transfer Danaeifar’s body to Iran.
