He called Iran’s access to peaceful nuclear technology a turning point in the history of the Islamic civilization which indicates that Iran can achieve progress without foreign help.
He praised Iranian nuclear scientists for their technological advances and said nuclear energy will strengthen Iran’s “independence” in the path to progress.
He went on to say that nuclear energy is usable in agriculture and medicine and producing electricity.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the cleric referred to the European Parliament resolution against Iran, calling it disgraceful.
The resolution, issued on April 3, accused Iran of violating human rights.
The Western countries cannot offend “our religion, culture and values” under the pretext of human rights, Seddiqi added.
He stated that the Iranian nation’s resistance to use nuclear technology for civilian purposes will give a crushing response to European countries and all the hegemons.
