If the U.S. continues to impose sanctions on Russia and make threats against the country, it will receive a firm response, the Fars News Agency quoted Ambassador Levan Dzhagaryan as saying on Saturday.

Dzhagaryan added that the current policy adopted by the U.S. is wrong and it would be better if it were changed.

The U.S. and its allies cannot isolate Russia because it has close relations with many countries, like Iran, China, and India, he said.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Dzhagaryan voiced satisfaction over the current level of relations between Iran and Russia.

Commenting on Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif’s trip to Moscow, he said that such trips help boost bilateral ties.

Zarif recently travelled to Moscow to attend a meeting of the foreign ministers of Caspian Sea littoral states, which was held on April 22.
